President Mahama Calls for National Support to Reset Ghana’s Economy

Accra, Ghana – March 3, 2025

President John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaians to unite behind his administration’s reset agenda, emphasizing that collective action is key to economic recovery and sustainable growth.

Speaking at the launch of the National Economic Dialogue in Accra on Monday, Mahama described the event as a crucial turning point, aimed not only at analyzing Ghana’s financial challenges but also at developing practical solutions to restore stability.

“We are not here to recount our struggles nor are we here to resign ourselves to economic stagnation. We are here to seek solutions that will put us on a path of growth and ensure that we build an economy that works for every Ghanaian,” he stated.

The Reset Agenda: A National Call to Action

President Mahama emphasized that the reset agenda is not just a government initiative but a national responsibility.

“For me, this is not just another policy discussion; it is an urgent call to action. A crucial moment for us, as stakeholders, to purpose and resolve the challenges that face us,” he added.

The National Economic Dialogue serves as a platform for key stakeholders—including government officials, economists, business leaders, and development partners—to craft strategic measures aimed at resetting Ghana’s economy and fostering long-term prosperity.

Ghana’s Economic Roadmap

As part of the reset strategy, the government is expected to:
✅ Implement fiscal discipline measures to curb excessive spending.
✅ Stabilize the cedi and address inflation concerns.
✅ Strengthen job creation efforts, particularly in the private sector.
✅ Boost agriculture and industrialization to reduce reliance on imports.
✅ Ensure transparent governance and accountability in public finance.

With Ghana facing rising debt servicing obligations and economic pressures, the success of the reset agenda will depend on the active participation of all sectors of society.

📌 The dialogue will continue in the coming weeks, with expert discussions shaping the nation’s economic recovery strategy.
