Mahama: $400 Million Spent on Agenda 111 Without a Single Operational Hospital

Accra, Ghana – February 27, 2025
President John Dramani Mahama has revealed that $400 million was spent on the Agenda 111 hospital project under the previous administration, yet not a single facility is fully operational.
Speaking during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of his second term, Mahama criticized the lack of progress despite the massive financial investment in the ambitious project, which aimed to build 111 hospitals nationwide to improve Ghana’s healthcare system.
“It is worth disclosing that USD400m has already been disbursed under Agenda 111, yet not a single hospital under this gargantuan initiative is serving the people of Ghana,” he stated.
Mahama further noted that if resources had been utilized efficiently, at least 22 hospitals could have been completed and made operational by now.
His remarks raise serious concerns about the management and execution of one of Ghana’s largest healthcare infrastructure projects, prompting fresh calls for accountability and transparency.
