Godfred Dame Denies Ethical Misconduct Allegations in Ambulance Procurement Case

Former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, has strongly denied allegations of ethical misconduct in the controversial ambulance procurement case involving current Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.
The accusations were made by Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine during a press conference on February 12, 2025, where he claimed that Dame engaged in unethical and unprofessional conduct in handling the prosecution.
Dame’s Response
Speaking at a press briefing on Friday, February 14, 2025, Dame dismissed the allegations as false and politically motivated.
“Dr. Ayine’s unfounded allegations insinuating unethical conduct on my part in the ambulance case are highly disingenuous and unfortunately mirror the falsehoods peddled by some uninformed members of society,” he stated.
He further pointed out what he described as the irony of the accusations, highlighting that Dr. Ayine himself is under disciplinary proceedings for professional misconduct at the General Legal Council.
“I must say that I find it quite ironic for Dr. Ayine, who is a subject of disciplinary proceedings, to accuse me of unethical conduct,” Dame added.
Background of the Case
The ambulance procurement case centers around the purchase of 200 ambulances under the John Mahama administration, with allegations of financial mismanagement and contract irregularities.
The case has been a highly debated legal and political issue, with both sides accusing each other of bias and political interference.
With tensions rising, the controversy is expected to fuel further legal and political battles in the coming weeks.
