Mahama’s efforts, NPP’s arrogance secured NDC’s victory – Ade Coker
Joseph Ade Coker Attributes NDC’s 2024 Electoral Victory to John Mahama’s Leadership and NPP’s Arrogance
Former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Ade Coker, has credited the party’s resounding victory in the 2024 elections to the leadership of President-elect John Mahama and the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) perceived arrogance.
Speaking on Citi FM, Mr. Coker praised John Mahama for his extensive campaign efforts, noting that the President-elect toured all 276 constituencies multiple times over the past three years to connect with voters and share his vision for the future.
“President Mahama…really traversed this country. He went around the constituencies and regions more than three or four times, letting the people know his programme for the future,” Coker stated.
He also highlighted widespread dissatisfaction among Ghanaians due to economic hardships under the NPP government, including controversial policies such as the “haircut” on investments and the economy’s downgrade to “junk” status.
Additionally, Coker accused some NPP appointees of arrogance, further alienating voters. “Most of the appointees of the NPP became very arrogant…Ghanaians were really angry. So you could see that people voted massively for the NDC because they wanted a change,” he said.
The 2024 elections marked a turning point for the NDC, with Mahama securing a significant mandate to lead Ghana, signaling a shift in public trust and expectations for the future.
