NIB Awaits Speaker’s Approval to Interrogate Assin South MP Over Drug Allegations

Accra, Ghana – April 9, 2025 – The National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) is awaiting approval from Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin to release Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin South, to assist in investigations into allegations of drug trafficking and money laundering.
Minister’s Statement
📢 Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister of State in Charge of Government Communications, revealed on Face to Face on Channel One TV that the MP has not yet responded to requests from security agencies.
💬 “The NIB wrote to the Speaker to release Ntim Fordjour. The Speaker is yet to respond to the NIB, as far as I am aware. Anytime the Speaker responds to it, he will be available for questions.”
Kwakye Ofosu further suggested that the interrogation process should be made public to ensure transparency.
💬 “I have requested that the interrogation be released to the public,” he added.
