Nsoatreman FC Withdraws from Ghana Premier League Over Player Safety Concerns

March 2025 – Nsoatreman Football Club has officially announced its withdrawal from the ongoing 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League, citing security concerns for its players.
In a formal letter addressed to the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the club expressed regret over its decision but emphasized that recent violent incidents had made their continued participation impossible.
Security Concerns Prompt Exit
Nsoatreman FC pointed to troubling events during their matches against Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Samatex FC, incidents that were already reported to the GFA.
“We are forced to take this decision due to recent events involving our matches with Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Samatex FC, which we officially wrote to your high office,” the statement read.
The club stressed that player safety was their top priority, and after careful consideration, the management and board of directors concluded that they could no longer guarantee it.
“In light of this, we can no longer guarantee the safety of our players. Therefore, management and board of directors are left with no choice but to prioritize the safety and security of our players by withdrawing from the League.”
Apology & Acknowledgment
The club apologized for any inconvenience their withdrawal may cause and thanked the GFA for its cooperation.

This decision marks a major development in the Ghana Premier League, raising concerns over match security and the welfare of players in Ghanaian football.
