A daring daylight robbery shocked Accra’s Adabraka Market on Saturday, November 2, as four armed, masked men targeted a man in a red Toyota Corolla, suspected to be carrying large sums of cash. According to eyewitnesses, the robbers fired multiple shots into the air upon arrival to disperse the crowd, causing shoppers and vendors to flee for safety.
Witnesses reported that the robbers demanded the victim open the vehicle’s boot, from which they seized bags filled with cash. The group then quickly loaded the money into their getaway vehicle, a Toyota Highlander, and continued firing shots to maintain crowd control as they escaped.
The attack, reportedly the second in the area, has left residents and shop owners deeply unsettled, especially as Adabraka Market hosts numerous gold dealers and vendors handling large amounts of cash. Some onlookers captured the incident on video, and the footage has been widely circulated on social media, further fueling concerns about market security.
The Ghana Police Service has yet to issue a formal statement on the robbery, but the rapid spread of the footage online has highlighted urgent public safety concerns in the area.
