Do you own a town’? – Furious Drobonso chief sacks Cheddar from campaigning in his community over disrespect

The Chief of Drobonso, in the Sekyere Afram Plains District of Ghana’s Ashanti Region, revealed that he expelled Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, from his town for organizing a campaign event without first seeking permission from the palace. In a video posted on social media, the Chief expressed his displeasure at Cheddar’s failure to follow traditional protocol, describing it as disrespectful.
“It is the custom for politicians to pay a courtesy visit to the chief of any town they intend to campaign in, seeking permission and blessings,” the Chief said. He emphasized that not acknowledging local leadership is unacceptable in his town.
Nana Kwame Bediako, a businessman turned politician, is running as an independent candidate in the upcoming 2024 presidential election, aiming to become Ghana’s first independent president. His campaign focuses on reviving the industrial capabilities of all 16 regions in Ghana, especially those that have been neglected. Despite the setback in Drobonso, Cheddar continues to travel across the country, hoping to win the support of Ghanaians ahead of the December election.
