Work has resumed at the Buduburam road construction site following the tragic rock-blasting accident on October 14, which claimed several lives and caused significant property damage. In response to the incident, the project team has implemented enhanced safety protocols aimed at preventing future accidents.
According to a project supervisor, who spoke anonymously, workers have undergone additional safety training, and advanced monitoring systems have been installed to ensure tighter safety controls. Workers on-site expressed confidence in these measures, stating that they feel reassured by the steps taken to improve safety conditions.
Gomoa East NADMO Director, Robert Hackman, confirmed in an interview with CitiNews that the rock-blasting phase of the project has been completed. He added that, despite this, the newly enforced safety protocols will remain in place to protect both workers and nearby residents as the construction continues.
