The Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen has unreservedly apologized to the the presidency on behalf of his nephew Kwame Baffoe popularly known as Abronye DC for his harsh comments made last week.
Nana Obiri Bohen in an interview with Kofi Marfo (Sir Richie) on Hot Radio London yesterday said , disrespecting the president not only strike a blow at the office he holds ,but also a sucker punch to Ghana’s constitution and the institution of democracy.
Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe recently revealed during a radio interview that he does not like any foolish orders from the presidency hence his abrupt end to his role as head of presidential task force to retrieve state vehicles dubiously acquired by members of the NDC government.
Nana Obiri Boahen added that his nephew spewed bitter words due to his belief that members at high places kept interfering with orders from above for seized cars to be returned to those believed to have illegally acquired them.
The NPP Deputy General Secretary added that his nephew Kwame Baffoe has been bitterly complaining about impediments from within the NPP party to his dislike hence his outburst.
My nephew Kwame Baffoe has embarked on a lifestyle of speaking out against corruption and the manner in which it destroys lives. From the simple things to the really far reaching like milking the state at the expense of the destitute ,vulnerable and poor. We as a family believe that it is tantamount that our youth know and understand there are always alternatives as well as people and organisations that they can turn to without fear of victimization or intimidation , He said.
Nana Obiri Boahen added, his nephews quest to fight corrupt official in the past NDC government has been very challenging and incredibly difficult at times, but has also brought to him a tremendous honor.
Nana Obiri Biahen lamented , even though his nephew Abronye DC has made up his mind to discontinue his patriotic service to Ghana, it must not discourage the Ghanaian youth from pursuing the same cause for the sake of the next generation.
Is now not the perfect time for us to guard against corruption and corrupt officials because they never stop or even slows down due to our current economic woes ,he added.
